The 4-legged Heroes

Miss My Tiger or "Mya" is fully owned by Palomino Hope.  She is a special mare. Mya is a retired pleasure show horse who now enjoys helping kids, trail riding, and eating. :).  Mya is sponsored in 2026 by the Moon Family.

River has become the best trail riding/ kids horse on the property. She absolutley loves her "job"!

"Honey", a 13 year old paint that has been on the property since she was 3, is the cutest mare. Honey is sponsored by the Buchanan family.   In the picture:  Honey, Laurel, and Laken at the 20254 Blessing of the Animals at a local church. :)

Willow is a Dun QH mare who is as equally sweet as she is sassy! :)  Willow has become one of the main Pal Hope horses who is amazing at her job!

"Phinny", the cute little mare from Kentucky, is working on being a pleasure show horse, a trail horse, and a kid horse. Pictured: Phinny with one of the Pal Hope kids during picture day!

"Joey is the "Kid" of the herd.  He is the most playful of the bunch!  Joey has been here since he was a year and a half old. He is now 5.

"Austin", the old man of the herd, but you wouldn't know it if you rode him! Austin is full of energy, loves to lead, loves to roll in mud, and really loves to splash in the water!  He is a 24 year old retired jumper. :)

He is sponsored in 2026 by Traci Bowlsby and partially by Aylissa Deschaine.

"Rocky", the gentle giant of the herd, was   rescued as a 6 month hold. Rocky has been here the longest of all the horses. Rocky is now 13 and very loved by everyone he meets!  He is the "boss man!"

"Vegas"  You would not believe Vegas was as feral as a wild cat just 2 years ago! She was rescued as a yearling from a kill pen. Now, she is the most loving horse on the property! She really wants to know what everyone is doing at all times!

Vegas spends her days hanging with people! She is owned by Palomino Hope, and sponsored by the Hay and Misch Kids of Walled Lake!

"Roami" is the sweetest OTTB (Off the track thoroughbred) ever! She loves her chill, new life! Pictured here,  Roami gets brushed by a Pal Hope participant. "Spoiled" should be her name! :)

"Dreamer" is a rescue Arabian. We all agree that we have never seen a horse love to be around children as much as Dreamer.   Dreamer needs special care, as he has a bad eye.

Curly the pony loves to get attention at our events! Thank you curly for being such a good sport!

If you try to pass by Walter the Donkey without a scratch he will follow you until you give in! Thank you Walter!

Elsa and Big Red! Whatever you do, do NOT call Big Red small! :)

The four (one missing from picture as she is camera shy) lazy labs of Pal Hope! :)

They love our busy life!

Feed

Feed

The Pal Hope horses  are fed the best quality of feed.  We currently use Tribute Kalm-n-ez,  Purina smart feed (low sugar ), Farriers Formula , Alph-alpha soaked, First cutting dry quality hay, ulcer guard, and are wormed every 2 months.

Each horse has their own feed routine depending on his or her needs.

"Sonny", the original Palomino that inspired it all...

I am certain Sonny was sent from the heavens to heal my soul.

-Laurel

The memory of how Sonny made me feel is what inspires me today.
